  • Fundamentals of shooting a rifle

  • Basic ballistics
  • Shooting positions: standing, kneeling, and prone
  • Loading and unloading the carbine
  • Reloading techniques
  • Malfunction clearance techniques
  • Presentation from the low ready
  • Presentation from high ready
  • Basic rifle/carbine tactics
  • Awareness, scanning and threat assessment
  • Shooting from cover (stationary shooting positions)
  • Shooting on the move
  • Other (Low Cover, non-standard stances, etc.)

  • Eye and ear protection
  • A reliable carbine rifle
  • A quality belt
  • 3 magazines
  • 2 magazine pouches
  • 200 rounds of ammunition
  • Range appropriate footwear and clothing
  • Hydration (water)
